A nurturing, supportive space for women and families

to slow down,

reconnect,

and feel truly held.

Centred around empowering women, helping them to feel strong, confident and realise their own inner power.

Creating a supportive community where women feel safe and held to be authentically themselves.

Hello, and welcome to

I began teaching yoga for women at all life stages in 2019, and I feel passionately that it’s my calling to support women. Helping them become physically strong, informed, empowered, and confident as they journey through pregnancy, motherhood, and beyond menopause.

My work is rooted in whole-person care - honouring your body, your emotions, and your unique journey.

MY SERVICES

I’m Lorna, a Yoga Teacher and Birth Doula.

I gently support you to build strength, confidence, and trust in yourself through movement, meditation, and rest.

Whether you’re sharing joyful moments with your little one, exploring playful connection, or simply taking time for yourself, you’ll be welcomed into a safe, inclusive community where you can feel seen, supported, and never alone.

Why Our Shakti Tribe?

My vision has always been to recreate the “village feel” that has sadly been lost in our culture. Community and connection are at the heart of all my classes and events.
I believe there’s incredible power when women come together - to hold space for one another, share, care, and support each other on this wild ride of life.

When you join my classes, I want you to feel safe, supported, and nurtured, like you’ve found your tribe, a space where you can comfortably and authentically be yourself.

The word              is a Sanskrit term

...that describes divine feminine energy: powerful, universal, strong, creative, intuitive, life-giving, and manifesting energy.

Shakti Pregnancy

BOOK A CLASS

Yes, you certainly can. If you are experiencing Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP) or Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD), I provide adaptations to ensure your practice is gentle and supportive.

It is essential that you consult with your doctor, midwife, or a physiotherapist first to ensure it is safe for your specific condition.

I have pelvic pain, can I still practice yoga?

Yes, you can continue right up until your baby is born! Often, ladies attend classes beyond their estimated due date. As long as you are feeling well and able, you are welcome to attend for as long as you like.

There is also a pay-as-you-go option towards the end of pregnancy.

Can I continue right up until baby is born?

I recommend waiting until after your 12-week scan before starting classes, unless you already have a regular yoga practice - in which case you may start sooner.

What if my baby needs to feed, nappy changed, sleeps, or cries?

Is there an age limit for baby?

I recommend starting 6–8 weeks after a vaginal birth and 8–10 weeks after a caesarean birth.
You may feel you need a little longer to physically heal and recover, so whenever you feel well and ready, you can get started.

When can I start Mum & Baby Yoga?

Shakti Mum & Baby FAQs

Most ladies continue until their baby is on the move. Every baby is different—this is often around 8 months, although some continue up to 10 months or beyond.

Once babies become more mobile, they tend to want to explore, which can be a little distracting for mums. If your baby still enjoys the class and is happy playing while you practice, you are welcome to stay as long as you like.

This class is super relaxed and completely baby-led. If your baby needs feeding, changing, wants to sleep, or becomes upset, there is absolutely no need to worry - you can simply do whatever you need in the moment.

Some weeks your baby might sleep and you’ll enjoy more of the yoga; other weeks you might spend more time tending to them - and that’s perfectly okay.

BOOK A CLASS

Yes, absolutely! My classes are all about moving your body within your own capability- you don’t need to be flexible at all.

Yoga isn’t about touching your toes or doing complicated poses. My classes focus more on how yoga feels in your body. It’s important to me that my classes are accessible to all ages, shapes, sizes, and abilities.

I’m not very flexible, is this okay?

We have a real mix of ages in class. Younger women are welcome from age 14 and upwards. There is no upper age limit. It’s a very welcoming and relaxed environment.

What age group are your classes for?

Doula Support

I work with women who are looking to build trust in themselves and the ability to birth their baby, build confidence to advocate for themselves within the maternity system and release fears and anxieties around birth.

I love hearing about their birth experiences and the sense of empowerment they feel afterwards - it's always so deeply emotional!

doula SUPPORT

"Birth is not only about making babies. It is about making mothers - strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength"

No, all classes are booked in blocks. If there are any weeks you’re unable to attend due to prior arrangements or appointments, I can skip these for you, but I do need to know these dates at the time of booking. Any missed classes that are not agreed in advance cannot be carried over.

Are the classes PAYG/Drop in?

I supply all equipment, so you don’t need to bring a mat—although some ladies prefer to bring their own to place on top of mine for a little extra cushioning and comfort.

Please bring a bottle of water and wear loose, comfortable clothing for your yoga practice.

WHAT Do I NEED TO BRING?

Yes, absolutely! All my classes are inclusive and accessible for everyone. I offer adaptations throughout to suit you, making postures easier or more challenging when required. I’m very good at reading the class and adapting things accordingly.

If you have difficulty getting up and down from the floor, my seated class, Shakti Gentle, is the best option for you to get started!

I’ve never done Yoga before, will this be suitable for me?

General FAQs

Ideally, yes. However, if you let me know of any prior arrangements or appointments at the time of booking, I can skip these and add them to the end of your block. If you miss any classes without prior notice, due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, I’m afraid they cannot be carried over.

Do the weeks in the block need to be consecutive?

No, all classes are rolling blocks. This means you can join any week that I have space, and you will always receive the full benefit of your block. When you join my classes, your space is always yours until you let me know you’d like to give it up.

Does the block start on a certain date?

Yes, all of my classes are women-only.

At Our Shakti Tribe, we are all about women supporting women, and I love creating safe spaces where women can come together, be themselves, and feel fully supported, heard, and held. It’s a lovely, magical vibe!

Are your classes just for women?

Emma

"I can't recommend Lorna's classes enough. I attended the pregnancy classes which were a great place to learn really valuable breathing techniques and chat about birthing options/mindset which really helped with my birthing experience. We then attended the mum and baby sessions postpartum which was a really lovely environment to meet each week. My toddler also went to Lorna's Little Yogis class - Lorna was brilliant with the kids and my wee girl loved the class"

Client Love

Eilish

"Lorna was always flexible and accommodating, and has a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of pregnancy, yoga, and hypnobirthing - she is just an all round powerhouse. I wanted a homebirth and when the time came I had all the tools I had learned from classes to make a homebirth possible. During classes, adapted movements were always an option and as I progressed through my pregnancy when I was starting to struggle with pelvic pain, Lorna was great at explaining how to aid it and was hugely beneficial to getting me through each week."

Client Love

Katy

"Lorna is such a fabulous teacher she really guides you through each session and makes things individual for you if you are having any pain or pregnancy issues. Each session starts with breathing exercises and then ends with a relaxation which is just unreal. I can't recommend her classes enough, I’ve loved every one, have met some lovely other expectant mums too and been introduced to other sessions through these classes - hypnobirthing and breastfeeding support."

Client Love

Rachel

"I attended pregnancy yoga from around 22 weeks pregnant and it was the best preparation and knowledge I experienced for birth. From the discussion points to the breathing and exercises, I felt prepared and knowledgeable about birth and utilised different breathing techniques and positions I had learned when in labour.
I started going to Lorna's Mum and Baby classes when my son was around 2 or 3 months old. We were always made to feel very welcome and enjoyed bonding together with yoga! The exercises were gentle and suitable for post partum healing."
